After the last post my motorcycle was impounded. Not one bit of fun... 40 days later I take out a new credit card and ka-ching! 1100 in parking tickets, 210 to re-register, 194 police prossessing fee, 900 towing and storage and a 10 dollar fix-it tickets prossessing fee. Needless to say, my self built debt-hole doubled it's depth in on single week.
Good news is I have Bluey / Blackey back -- hoorah!

So last week the cats had fleas, BAD. I bought them some Frontline and bombed the appartment. I think I got the little bastards, lets just hope nature hasn't given them an immunity.

Aside from that everything is good and normal as usual, the public is in the process of being sold and the transaction will finish beginning of July meaning; most of the staff is going to move on, including myself. It's only one day a week for me but I'll definitly miss it.

Things at Minna are up and down as usual. The gallery is tight on cash so shifts are getting cut and the such. Everyone is scrambling to find work. Well, that's a little bit of an exagerated statement but everyone is feeling the stress.

My appartment really feels like home now with some recent changes. Now if only I could clean the clutter out of my storage spaces.

Viva la Revolution!

So yesterday was a fun day at the ol' gallery... I got in at 3.45 had a coffee talked to Steen and Eiming for a little bit, found out that Hyper wasn't coming in until seven and that a few bands were coming in to set up. Steen leaves at 4.15 and the first band shows up at 5. I start helping them setup and well... lets just say that there were three bands with big setups, small minds and stinky as fuck. STRESS factor escalated to 300% for the first two hours of work. To top it all of, I got two tickets yesterday while parked 1) truck zone (which was completely bogus) 2) expired tags (which is true). SO not cool. Point being, everyone in SF revolt!! Don't pay your parking tickets or your registration! Show them that we aren't going to stand for these bogus charges just so they can make a ton of money and do work that should take two months, over the course of fours years on mission street.

NO MORE DPT righteous bigots!

Republic of Booze

So after attempting to fall asleep at 8.45, I realized it wasn't happening.

I preceded to watch the Empire Strikes Back, Ed Wood and The Fifth Element, accompanied with a pack and a half of cigarettes, three mimosas, three glasses of sake, the remainder of my bottle of dry sherry and a hefeweizen I still haven't achieved that hopeful state of sleepiness.

Time to figure out another movie and move on to port maybe.

Kundera

You know that feeling of butterflies in your stomach along with being choked up and kinda teary?
Well for some wacky reason that was my feeling / mood all day.
Maybe it was the drizzle and grey weather but then again -- that's my favorite kind of weather.
I don't know, strange feeling day I'm sure I'll feel better in the morning.
Strange, it's only 8.22 pm but for the passed hour or two I've been wishing it were midnight or one so I could go to bed.
Gallery day tomorrow...
I've been in a mood of laziness lately; dreading the moment I have to go to work. I apologize. It's been crazy busy.

So last time I'd done this I was in Ireland in a little internet cafe. The whole Ireland trip was amazing. we spent about a week in Dublin and Newbridge and then spent a week driving around Ireland. Jackie and I rented a car and drove a collective 800 miles. We started in Dublin then headed out to Galway City then up through Connemara to Westport then down to Limerick then Cork back up through Killkeney. Galway was a beautiful city; small, intersected by rivers, old.
The drive up through Connemara was one of the most amazing treks I've ever experienced. The ground is orange all throughout and with all the fog, everything seems to have a rust color to it, it's like looking at the world through a sepia filter. The roads are unbelievably narrow, walls on both sides. All of a sudden you see a truck heading your way and it looks like it's as far over as possible and it's still half in your lane... All you can do is close your eyes and hope. It works, I swears it!
Not one ding on the rental car.
Jackie's family was amazing, all of them are such beautiful people. Hm... we need to send her aunt a letter.

Anyway, once back in the states, broke and credit cards maxed life returned to it's usual place.
well, two days after our return from Ireland the kids from LA came up to visit for my birthday. It was good to see them.

Christmas came and went, the family joined us in SF for a wonderful celebration / get-together.
Soon after new years rolled around. Great night to party, even better night to work at a bar. The public was busy, crazy, fun and I walked out with 500 cash, not a bad night. After closing up the restaurant I headed over to the Paradise Lounge to meet up with Jackie and the kids. We were there for about an hour and then headed home in an Airporter... Wooha!

The day after new years was a blast, we stayed in and did absolutely nothing. Dan and I had a bonding experience by watching 12 straight hours of Carnevale. Now we're hooked.

January hasn't brought much for me to blog about, it's been the same old routine. Nothing new and exciting.
Well, that's not accurate. Nothing new but still exciting things. My relationship just keeps getting better and better with every day. I don't think I've ever been this happy with anyone. I feel lucky.

Aside from that everything's been the same, the weeks come and go and next thing you know it's almost february.
I've been in this city for three and a half years but the paradox of how I feel about it is confusing. I still feel like I've just arrived but conversely, I feel so at home. I've met great people and have explored the city as much as possible.
If I decide to settle in the US, this will be the city.

Ireland Photos

greetings from Ireland

Ok, so I'm still in Ireland and have made a quick stop at an internet cafe to check my remaining funds and say howdy to everyone. The trip has been amazing thus far and I've taken waaaaay too many pictures.
Miss Jacqueline von Treskow and myself are getting along very well.
We've rented a car and been driving around the country. I miss home but I not so much. If I had the backing I'd stay here six months if not forever.
I have to admit, I am rather anxious to get back... Watching my bank account and credit lines dwindle close to the red line has given me a certain want to return home and work.

When I arrive back in the states I'll post again, pictures and all.

Long Awaited Update

So finally I'm updating. I've been rather busy and sick in between so it's been quite a while since I've posted.
Here we go...

So, I leave for Ireland in approx. 12.5 hrs. I am so excited about this trip, it's going to be amazing. Beautiful country side, intriguing culture, great company and meeting many interesting people. Not to mention the barrels of whiskey I'm sure will be consumed. I finished packing and now am trying to fight off the excited insomnia and considering hitting the hay.

About two weeks ago I got sick -- bad. I had an upper respiratory infection, not a lot of fun. I had crazy fever fits, coughed up blood for about four days and a collective of other bad stuffs. Finally I made it to Urgent Care at the Hospital. The doctor asked if I smoked, I answered yes. She asked how much, I answered about half a pack a day... I lied... It's about a pack and a half to two a normal day. She listened to my lungs and said they sound tip-top. She prescribed amoxiciline (sp) and four days later I felt like diamonds.

I made my first endeavor out to Walnut Creek last Monday... Interesting.

Ugh, I don't chew gum and I just found a freshly chewed piece (still gooey) on my hardwood floors... I have no idea how it got here but new rule, no gum in Alberto's apartment... grrrr.

Last week my niece was rather sick (soon after I'd gotten better) she got an inner ear infection and a throat infection. I didn't see her during my sick time so I didn't spread it to her, it was some of the kids she plays with, they'd been sick recently. Kids are bacteria's happiest fantasy, I swear. Anyway, I had to watch her while my sister prepared for the show at Studio Z. Friday I realized I was getting sick again. I started pounding vitamin C and taking homeopathic drugs. I still got sick but not as bad. I haven't smoked in three days and the sore throat is almost gone. I had a fever of 99.3F for about an hour today but it broke fairly quickly. I took some advil, more vitamin C and Tylenol Cold. I feel much better and hopefully the sickness will be mostly dead for tomorrows lengthy plane ride.

Bluey is doing well, I'm going to miss her while I'm gone... vrooom.

The potential investment I've been investigating over the passed 10 months seems to be nearing materialization. I find out in four weeks. We'll see where life takes us.

I think another reason I haven't posted is my being upset about the election results. Maybe I'll come back, tie off loose ends and then move to Ireland. We'll see.

Ok, 3.30 am, I need to try and sleep. good luck to everyone for two weeks, I'll post as soon as I return.

at home

So finally the moving is complete. I've been living in the new appartment for two weeks and it's amazing. I'm so happy I moved. there is nothing like living by yourself. I still have a lot of unpacking to do -- mainly clothes. I also need to do all the proper wiring. I need to pick up some art I left at the other house too. Soon.

I woke up this morning with a slight need for change I think 'cause I cut my hair. I just got up walked to the bathroom and did it. I'm happy that I did, I like it.

I leave for Ireland in less than 15 days i'm so excited!!

I bought three new pairs of glasses on saturday. I spent too much money but hey -- it's worth it. I can't wait to get them back from the optician.

OK, I need to run get something to eat.

The Dream

So check it out,
I moved some boxes today and hopefully I'll finish the rest along with my bed and desk tomorrow.

Had a great night at work on friday, I got screwed out of 150 dollars thanks to one of my co-workers / bosses but hey -- It's ok 'cause karma will get her... I guess I'll admit that I'm still pissed about it. Some people...
On a related note I'm considering a prompt resignation from the restaurant. I feel used, abused and un-apreciated. We'll see how the next few weeks run.

I love the gallery, I love the people at the gallery, I just wish the turn out was what it used to be a year ago. I'm sure it'll pick up again. Ebs and flows as they say.

Lately I've felt rather happy with my life. I'm glad considering the passed six months of mediocracy and disapointment.

Less than a month 'till Ireland and it seems like I'll be ok with paying rent and having spending money, I'm saving like a banshee.

I don't want to deal with taking my bed and desk apart and putting them back together but hey -- the sooner I do it the sooner I can enjoy my new apartment.

I've been looking at furniture online. I've seen some great stuff, too expensive though; I supose I'll have to settle for IKEA right now.

I still feel like I'm missing certain things in life but I've done with out them for the passed two and a half, three years so I'll just keep on dealing. When time dubs it so, it'll happen.

Time to listen to old radio dramas woo!

kin-cap-b

running on two hours of sleep for the passed two days. Well, not two hours for 48 hrs. but 3 per each 24hr, period. All of a sudden, it's 12.30 and I should be asleep 'cause I've had a long passed couple of days (and a huge day tomorrow) but the second wind hit and I need something to do. I would go out but I think that's bad news right now, I'm physically tired and I have to get up fairly early and make a good impression. Tomorrow I meet with my new landlord, shuvel over $1800 sign some papers and consider myself and official Lower Haigh resident. I'm excited about moving in on my own -- not so excited about forking over the cash. Tomorrow also marks the one month point 'till my Ireland trip, sooooo exciting!

I need to start packing to move. I hate moving. I do it a lot though... Too much. This will be time number nine in three years. Maybe I secretly love moving. doubtful but possible.

My friend told me that he's renting a moving van on sunday to move all of his crap from one storage container to another, he offered to help me out moving. It'll be perfect if it works out 'cause we split the bill and I get an extra hand in exchange for a little elbow grease. My other friend also offered to lend me her truck, " Trucky" for a day if I wanted.

I drove the motorcycle down to Santa Cruise on sunday with a friend on the back. It was a blast, beautiful, amazing, awe-inspring, jaw-dropping... I crapped my pants. We pulled over right after Half Moon Bay and watched the sunset then drove the last 45 min. at night. We had a little dinner get together at a friends house, grilled fish, veggies, wine. it was delightful. Then at the ripe old hour of eight in the morning we trudged back to the city on Ol' Bluey making it at a break-neck time of one hour and thirty minutes.

Today was my day off... I worked. Kinda fun but kinda not. woop woop cough

Ok, I should get some sleep.

Never liked vodka too much

So as of monday, I have a new apartment. My friend and I went down to talk to her landlord about my taking over the lease of her flat. It's a one bedroom in the lower Haight. It's not in the best area but it's a great deal and I'll be close to the family and a lot of friends. Problem: we talked to the landlord on the 5th and I need to have the deposit for him by the 15th. I am stressed.
Not only am I stressed about the money but generaly confused about what I expect from myself and my life within the upcoming year.

I made myself a gimlet or two and a couple of margaritas tonight. Rather tasty but I don't know... I've been in a very limbo-like state and don't feel comfortable in it. As I stated, I'm stressed, confused and anxious.

Chrono

So I spent a couple of hours today in front of the ol' TV set playing Super Nintendo. My friend gave me a copy of Chrono Trigger when I went down south. It's pretty cool but the highlight of the game is the music. I looked online today and found the whole soundtrack on MIDI. I couldn't believe it, I downloaded all of it, it's great.

I drew a little sketch for a friend yesterday, don't know why but I did. Here it is.

I'm getting ready for my motorcycle trip, then Ireland and then Mexico City. I love traveling, there's nothing better. I think my calling is to be a gypsy or something of the sort, I'm only happy when I'm moving around the world. I guess it's good to have a home base too. I've realized that for now I'm content with being in SF, my band has finally been put together and we're writting songs but I'm not sure how much longer I'll be content here. If things go the path I see them going Europe is a possibility within the next year / year and a half. We'll see how things go but hell, there's nothing tying me to this place aside from the great friendships I have. I'd hate to loose those but, good friends always keep in touch. There don't seem to be many open possibilities for growth here anymore.

Liver schmiver...

I don't tend to go out very often, maybe once a week and just do something mellow with some friends. Not this passed week. I think I've exhausted my going out for the month this week. Anyway, my friend and I found a great bar in the sunset on saturday. It's called Terry's Lodge and it's fucking awesome. Bad Florecent lights, white linolium floor, old crappy bar, a tv playing battlefield earth and six people that all know eachother. It was cool it was like cheers but without the annoying characters, crapy bar and uppedy feel.

Side note: I worked a private party at the gallery last night and after the private event we had microcinema. It's a showing of indie short films. Anyway, they had a band play for their intermission, Joy Wants Eternity. They're from seatle and they're fucking rad, check them out.

Ok, I'm done with the typing.

Back by popular demand

Ok, I've been really bad about the blog lately.

So Vegas was fun, I gambled a little on roulette and came out ahead, wooha! The kids and I had a good time.
I've got the motorbike back as well, the girl that hit me went down the Charlie's and paid for the repairs before I'd gotten back from Vegas, she was really prompt about it. Conversly, the other lady, the one that backed into my bike, seems to think that I'm trying to rip her off. I'm getting rather tired of dealing with her. I think next conversation I have might resort to threats. I hate doing that but it's been a month and a half@!!
Bitch.

I cut my fringer at work today -- pretty bad too. I think it went all the way to the bone. If it's not looking better in a few days I might have to go see the doctor.

I still have the horrible cough, I shouldn't have smoked while I was sick. Stupid me.

I've been out of whiskey for about a week now and I'm drinking herbal tea before I good to bed instead. It's nice, similar soothing bedy-time feeling. I know that sounds horrible but what can you do when you've got crazy insomnia...
So a nice warm tea instead of a whiskey.

I'll post pictures from the vegas trip soon.
On the road home we passed a gas station that had 87 octane at 3.99! I couldn't believe it. Crazy greedy hick bastards. We didn't need gas, thank god.

Ok, I'm going to sleep.

Lazy McSickypants

Ok, so I know that I've been really bad about posting lately but hey, I'm a busy guy -- I swear. Still sick though.
I need to overpower this.
I don't like hot weather, I always get sick when it's hot.
I need to move to Alaska or Greenland or something.
Maybe Sweden...

and the gads bellowed nay

so I spent two hours recording a new song today and all of a sudden my computer froze... first time that's ever happened with this machine. It was wild, a crazy adrenaline rush. If I haden't reacted like I did I might not have a leg anymore. I've got a few cuts and scrapes along with a sore shoulder. Bluey on the other hand has a hefty oil leak and a few things were knocked out of alignment. I've gotta go back to Chralie's, yay...
Ask me for the details on the whole deal.

585

So, I finally got a call back from Charlie saying that the estimate was ready. Happy as can be, I cruise down to the shoppe and pick up the estimate... It's a whopping $585.78, more than half what I paid for the bike. 327.91 for parts, 97 for tax and 230 for labor. So anyway, I get home and call the lady, I tell her I have the estimate and she prety much craps her pants and implies that I'm trying to cheat her; it made me kind of angry. She tells me how she'd like to get a second estimate, I tell her, sure. So now I need to mail a copy of my estimate to New York, take pictures of the damage and e-mail them and wait for her to get something out there. Hrmph. bitch should have never hit my bike. Freaking crap drivers.

I went on a nice ride today, all around the Presidio. It's beautiful up there, secluded... It's almost like being in the mountains -- in the middle of the city. Really nice.

House Paty?

OK so the gallery tonight was like a frat party gone wrong or right... I mean the crowd was cazy young mixed with creepy haggered. Anyway, I made waaaay too many Tokyo / Long Beach Iced Teas and poured too many rounds of twenty shots... Wait, this sounds a lot like yesterdays post. I guess it's college weekend in the city.

I went down to Charlie's again, no news on the estimate but I did buy a new taillight, hopefully bluey is happy with that for now.
Tomorrow ( well today ), should be a good day; relaxing. I'm going to sleep in, maybe get together with some folks. If the day is nice I'd like to take bluey around the city or maybe even down to Half Moon Bay.
Hm... We had a crazy fashion week dealy going on. There was a fashion show and lots of coke-heads... I got to work alone from 7-9 and then the other two door guys decided to show, then PARTY! not really... anyway, those few hours I worked along were hectic, the promoter (a friend of Steens) decided that she didn't want her cashier to deal with the guest list so little ol' me got to deal. It was a pain in the ass... I don't deal with guest lists unless they're for Irene's party and even then it's a stretch. I hate having people tell me that someone was supposed to put them on and that they must have fogotten. Anyway, it was hectic but still fun.

In other news, tomorrow (well, today), I'm going in to get dental x-rays and a cleaning. I haven't been to the dentist in ages. I'm glad I'm going, I don't want to deal with crazy oral surgery in five years. So yeah -- I have to do the dental thing at 10 am, then I head on over the Charlie's to get the estimate for the repairs on bluey (he said to come back today), then I get to meet up with the chick who hit me and have her give me cash. I hope it's in a briefcase, that'd be badass. Yeah, then work. WOOHA!
... Or not ...
I'm proud of myself, I'm going to get a lot done tomorrow.
I kept wanting to spell "fashion" as "fassion" and I have no idea why.

Running gags

Man, running gags are funny as can be. Single Islay Malt, aged in oak - 84.99

Tonight, all are empty.
All values are retail, adding up to a retail total of 171.97

I love whiskey too much

Good and Bad

Ok, good news first, then comes the bitching.
The kids down south and I rescheduled for Vegas; I believe the 17th of Sept. is the new weekend. That should be fun, lets hope it goes through... Come on Pirnellynelly, you know you want to go!

Ok, bad news... I was enjoying a good old fashioned meal at the Public with the beautiful miss Hanna today when all of a sudden B approaches me and tells me that someone has just backed into Ol' Bluey... I scurry outside and find a crew of people around my motorcycle. Some bitchy lady gives me her phone number and E-mail address and tells me that she's moving to New York in three days and that she'll write me a check for the amount needed but that I'd better hurry. In my state of delirium, I didn't say much and mounted the bike to make sure it starts... Sure enough, it does. Thank god that Hanna was there, she took down the plate number of the car that hit me. So yeah, I need to go into Charlie's on thrusday -- early and see about getting an estimate. From what I've noticed, both (front and rear) left hand turn signals are badly damaged (the reflectors are broken, housing is bent...), the headlight is bent out of line, the right foot peg is bent further out of line and a few other slight problems. I'll take pictures and post them soon. God I'm pissed, tonight might be a good night to finish off that third of Lagavulin I was saving. Fucking people.

More travel

So for the passed few years some friends and I have planned to go to Vegas for a weekend. I'm not big on gambling, strippers or whores so I think I'd end up people watching and getting way too loaded. Anyway, the plan has never actually gone through, it did come the close this last time though.
About a month ago when I flew down to southern California to see some friends and family, the boys asked if I'd be up for going the last weekend of August, I said sure and they started planning. Knowing my friend, I decided not to buy a plane ticket or ask for time off until I was possitive. Sure enough, I got a phone call a few days telling me that the plans were terminated. No worries, I said, we'll reschedule.
Anyway, recently I was talking to a female friend of myne and mentioned the fact that I ain't goin' to Vegas no mo'. All of a sudden she got a sparkle in her eye and suggested that we take Ol' Bluey out there; that she and I cruise the road on the old motorbike for a week or so. She suggested we make the actual road part of the trip the major part, you know, take it easy get to Vegas over the span of a few days, spend a few nights around the state. Maybe camp out a couple or something. Anyway, it sounds like a good idea to me. Only thing is, it needs to happen soon 'cause once the rainy seasons rolls around, it's not happening until next year.
So yeah -- I'm excited. It seems like it might be a fun possibility to consider over the next few weeks. Who knows what'll happen... I've reached a state (after stressing for a while) where I'm just living my life and enjoying it (taking the advice of that same female friend). So yeah, something else to maule over and decide soon.
Survey say's (as of this moment): California roads, here we come.

quick fix for the long term...

"Monday Monkey Lives for the Weekends" or so Liela says, I like mondays, they're like my saturdays.
Anyway, my parents were in town this weekend for Ma's birthday. It was a good time, we went out to Sausalito and spent some good ol' family time. Anyway, my parents stayed at my place for the weekend. When I got home from work on thursday my dad was up so I talked to him for a while. It was nice... I love my dad, he's great. He's one of the greatest people to talk to, I have the utmost respect for the man... Anyway, ranting; so he and I were talking about my current concerns and the things stressing me out. We covered the normal work and life stuff but I also went over the whole, my neighbor is a raging jackass / crazy person thing; he thought I was exaggerating. They all found out sunday night that I wasn't... My crazy, cracked out neighbor was blasting country and running around slamming doors all through the night, it was a blast -- I swear...
So yeah, with that said, everyone that thinks I go over board about being frustrated with my neighbor, I have witnesses!!

Moving on, I also talked to my dad about my trip to Ireland (after we spoke about my frustrations), he suggested that I considering staying in Ireland indefinitly. I'd considered this before but never brought it up with him 'cause I thought he'd dissaprove. Boy was I wrong. He totally supports the idea. I think he can see how stressed / tired / angstful I am.

Point: within the next couple of months I'm considering finding a studio, live on my own, no more roommates. Before I sign any lease though I need to sit down and consider whether or not I'd appreciate the option of staying in Ireland. So, if I decide that it is a possibility, I might throw all of my crap in storage, couch-hop for a month and then just run with it over there. I'll either be back in fifteen days and hunting for an appartment or I'll be in Ireland hunting for a job and an appartment. Either way, currently, it's the thought of this trip that get me out of bed every morning and motivates me. We'll see how things go in November but the idea of staying over there sounds pretty good to me and seems more and more inviting each day.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://albertohernandez.blogspot.com/2004/08/quick-fix-for-long-term.html' title='quick fix for the long term... I got together with a friend, we went to see Napoleon Dynamite (which was crap after all the hype) and we sucked down a bottle of two buck chuck during the film. Today, I went to see Maria Full of Grace; an amazing film. Check it out if you get a chance, I think it's out for general release this friday.

So anyway, maybe it's the Tony and the Scotch talking but I'm a little down. I don't know, I'm a little fed up I guess.
Hrmph...
It's strange, I'm in one of those moods where you want to talk about it but then again you really don't. You know what I mean.
With that thought, I'm going to go smoke a cigarette. Maybe I'll be certain about typing later, if not then tomorrow's another day and I'm sure it'll be full of sunshine and lolipops...
Sidenote: I love my motorcycle, best purchase I've ever made. If I could marry it, I would...
Tangent: I really need to pick up my sax and start playing intensly again -- with that, I need to buy that M-Audio 410 and start recording live sax stuff.

Fuckin' People Man...

So today, friday, I got up and went down to Studio Z to help Irene set up for the big bash tonight. Not too much fun. Luckily I headed south and not east so -- I exited as soon as I got a chance (18th and Mariposa). After my mild heart attack subsided I realized that in a matter of minutes I'd traveled half way across town. Mildly sour I cruised back down town and headed to work.
In all honesty, she held up well and it wasn't as frightening as I'd thought it'd be, just really windy. So overall a good first motorcycle on freeway experience.

Video game kick...

So lately (after the Mario Piano vid), I've got into a nostalgic kick for video games. The only one that stuck out enough to think about buying again is the Secret of Evermore. After a good two hours of remembering the game I decided to see if it was released for Gameboy Advanced... No dice... Down but not out I decided to do a google search on the game. I found out that EB games has it used so -- on impulse, I bought it. Twenty dollars, next day shipping and three days later I haven't received the game... no matter though, I don't own a Super Nintendo. *sigh*
So, I've been perusing Ebay for one and I've found some pretty good deals on SNES. Now if only the scoundrels at Ebay would send my confirmation e-mail I'd bid... Bastards!

Mario!!

A friend sent this to me, it's funny. I have to admit the two reasons I went were Kristin Dunst and Sam Raimi. Over all the movie was decent but there were some great parts. Some parts were very reminiscent of the Evil Dead series... Those portions of the movie made my night.
Side note: I hate happy endings with the protagonist flying around (example: the Matrix).

The new art show opens tomorrow (well, today 2.41a.m.) at Minna. It should be a lot of fun, most (if not all) of the artists are local and they have a slew of friends... all of whom enjoy the drink.
Come by, Thursday July 1st. 5 p.m. - whenever, it'll be a good time.

River scar

So today I got together with the girls to practice some music. You know, just mess around, have a good time, rock out. Anyway, Michelle broke her A string and asked me to change it for her, I said, "sure". I set my guitar down beside me (still on and plugged in) as she handed me hers. I took it firmly by the neck (note that her guitar was also on and plugged in) wrapping my hand around the strings not realizing that with each passing moment that the headstocks of both guitars were approaching collision. As I laid Michelle's guitar on my lap, the broken string casually landed on the head of my guitar and began to shock me. As I turned my head to look at the ordeal, I began to pull Michelle's guitar out of range. In doing so, sparks started flying and the string came into contact with my hand (at this point not only electrified but rather hot). Well, I stared at it and froze for a second until I realized that the strange aroma wafting through the air was that of my own flesh cooking. Finally reacting and pulling the two guitars out of eachothers range the entire ordeal soaked in and I sat in utter disbelief for a collective of ten seconds... Perhaps more than shock, I contemplated my idiocy for allowing the two guitars to come near eachother in that scenario. Having in the passed learned (from former shock experiences) to keep the two separated, I made a quick mental note and reprimanded myself subconsciously.
Point being: Now I's gots me a cool long lookin scar / wound thingy on me hand.

Blogging begun

So, I just watched the exorcist (I picked it up last week at Virgin); I haven't watched that movie in years... I think the last time was around age twelve. Anyway, I read the book in high school and it's so much better than the movie. I guess if I'd made the movie it would've been somewhere around five hours long but -- oh well.
So as of this moment, the power of christ does not compel me to watch the movie again soon... it does however, compel me to read the book again.
Getting to the point: I messaged E with the thoughts written above and realized that any time I have thoughts or an opinion about something I run online and pass them on to him. So, I've decided to start a blog and allow the poor man to live his life without having to read every thought... ok, fine with E, the Kiwi and everyone else's blog I felt left out and uncool and decided to start one. I'm going to go listen to Britney Spears, throw up my dinner and buy a new tube-top.
